Quality Assurance

Paul Webb is a new employee at Team17 and a member of the QA department. Paul assisted in the testing of Worms Armageddon. Hence, he's one of the people to thank for making sure that the end product was as perfect as can be.

You're a fairly new employee at Team17, how are you finding it?
It took me a while to settle in here at first, but I soon got adjusted to the working environment and I get along with everyone pretty well, even Grant...

What was it like to playtest Worms Armageddon?
I really enjoyed testing Worms Armageddon especially working on the LAN and Server testing, I felt I put a lot of input into finding bugs throughout the development as did everyone, and in the end we had a very stable bug free game.

What makes this the best Worms game ever?
The inclusion of the new weapons and utilities add a lot to the gameplay especially in the Multi-player games where utilities can play an important part. The Missions and Training are also excellent and improve the Single Player game immensely providing a good learning curve for a new player, with the WormNET ranking system there is even more lastability added to the game with players striving to reach Elite status.

Got any good tips?
Utilise the utilities in Multi-player games to get the upper hand over your opponent, they give you a tactical advantage especially the Jet Pack and Invisibility!

What do you make of the games industry?
I think that there is a lot of potential for new ideas with the new consoles, Dreamcast and Playstation 2, currently there is too many clones and un-originality appearing on the current formats, hopefully this will be addressed in the future!

What are your ambitions in life?
My ambition is to hopefully maybe progress into the games design in the long-term future.

Is this 'the end as we know it'?
Yes it is muhahahaha actually I hope not!

[ about | the team ]
Since the release of the original Worms, the game has grown and the number of people who've contributed to the game has also grown. As with all Team17 games, Worms Armageddon was a team effort. We've managed to track down some of the team to ask them what makes this the best Worms game ever. Just click their names to read their interviews.
